Political Correctness (help needed!!!)
Hello, everybody!
I am a russian student, studying English at the uni, I am graduating this year, so I need to complete my final thesis. It is about "politically correct" language, and part of it is a small questionnaire about the use of "politically correct" words (I need to find out which of them are really in use, and some other things). I saw "PC" among the interests of this community, that's why I am addressing here. So, if anybody could fill out my questionnaire, I would be VERY grateful to this person! It won't take long, I think no more than 10 minutes and would help me a lot!

Here is the link for it. http://www.yoshkar.com/survey/questPC.doc

Please send the results to kosharik84@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance!

This is the best piece on this subject that I've read in a long time.

from today's Chronicle feed:
I don't have time to read it right now but it looks obviously relevant to this community:

Conservatives in a Liberal Landscape
On left-leaning campuses around the country, professors on the right feel disenfranchised

since no one has introduced themselves...here goes.

I'm Sarah, 23, recent grad from CU-Denver. And I have to say that during my 5 year stint at this communter type college, there was no real political activism that occured on this campus. The one exception to this is when an anti-abortion group from kansas posted up horrific pictures of partial births. And for our student government...it was barely even there.

I graduated with a poly sci degree and i would have to say that most of my professors really didnt lean to the right nor the left. They really pushed for you to be critical of the majority leader and to analyze whatever was said or set infront of your eyes. I am curious if this happened to others as well.

anyway...nice to meet ya..cant wait to see other posts.
